James and Amanda’s late summer wedding at The Refinery was so relaxed and incredibly enjoyable. It was clear that their number one focus for the day was celebrating together and enjoying time with their loved ones. Their friends and family were so sweet, and made me really feel like part of the family. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to photograph!

These two love being outdoors together, especially when hiking or running. To bring this love indoors, they brought in a lot of natural elements in their decor, with greens and blues to complement the black-and-white urban venue. Their sweetheart table especially was full of lush greenery and really made a statement in the reception space. 

One of the most notable memories I have of James and Amanda’s wedding day is that we were constantly running ahead of schedule. If you’ve ever worked at or been in a wedding, you know that this is never the case! Thanks to such a large portion of the wedding party and family being in the military, everyone was incredibly punctual and organized. It made the whole day feel incredibly relaxed because we were never rushing, and it gave the couple and their family and friends ample quality time together!

Of course, we also have the incredible team at The Refinery to thank for keeping everything on time. I truly can’t say enough good things about this venue and its staff. From the overall aesthetic of the space to their friendly and competent staff, they knocked it out of the park. They were an absolute pleasure to work with, and if you’re looking for an industrial venue and Culpeper, you have to check them out! 

James and Amanda had a truly special wedding day at The Refinery that was full of tender and sweet moments that were a joy to witness. I’m so grateful to have been a part of such an incredible wedding day.
