DAR Constitution Hall could not be a more beautiful location for a Washington, DC anniversary photo session! We selected a location for Morgan and Lis that showed the beauty of Washington, DC. With gorgeous architecture and a fantastic location, I knew DAR Constitution Hall would be the perfect spot. 

Washington DC Anniversary Session

I met Morgan and Lis at sunrise on this warm September morning for their anniversary session. I adore sunrise sessions at DAR Constitution Hall because the east-facing sun gives the entire space a beautiful warm glow. We started with photos on the front steps with the iconic brass doors, before moving over to the portico with its gorgeous arched windows and stunning columns. Lis and Morgan’s light blue outfits added the perfect amount of contrast to the pale stone building, and really elevated the whole session! We wrapped up the morning by hopping across the street to another one of my favorite hidden gems for a few photos in the garden and on the grand steps.

Weddings at DAR Constitution Hall

DAR Constitution Hall is one of my absolute favorite locations for photos and weddings in the city. The location is spectacular – just a few blocks from the White House but set back off the mall, meaning fewer crowds. For a wedding day, you can host your ceremony on the portico or terrace, followed by a reception in the library or O’Byrne gallery. You could even add a tent to the property for a larger wedding! For portraits and couples sessions I love to use the outdoor space with a focus on the gorgeous limestone and architecture. While you do need a permit for photography at Constitution Hall, the first hour is free.
