Allison and Jake’s colorful spring wedding in Leesburg was such a fun and joyful day. During the planning process, they talked about making sure that the wedding felt like a reflection of their relationship and personalities, and they absolutely pulled that off. Although a bit of spring rain called for a change of plans, their wedding day was beautiful from start to finish and I’m so glad I could document it for them.

Allison and Jake started their wedding celebration with a first look where they exchanged private vows. This was a very intimate and emotional moment for them both, and I’m glad they had the privacy to experience this together without guests watching. We then took all of their wedding party and family portraits, so they could fully enjoy cocktail hour with their guests.
Just before their ceremony, rain clouds started to roll in, and the team made the decision to move the ceremony indoors. Thankfully, 48 Fields has a gorgeous indoor space so there was nothing to worry about. After cocktail hour, the skies cleared for a perfect sunset where we got the most incredible couple’s photos where the sunset sky perfectly matched their wedding palette!
Unique Wedding Touches
One of the most important things to Allison and Jake in planning their wedding was finding ways to incorporate their dog, Crosby. Since Crosby couldn’t be at the wedding physically, they made sure to add him in other ways. They had a custom figurine of him on their cake, named a signature cocktail after him, and even got a life-sized cardboard cutout so he could join them on the dance floor! Details like this are what make weddings unique to each couple, and are the things you will remember the most about your day.
Allison and Jake had such a beautiful spring wedding day in Leesburg, Virginia, and were so gracious as they rolled with the punches throughout the day. It was really such a joy to work for this couple and meet all of their friends and family!
